What is the default if nothing is set?
Every day is available all day until someone adds availability. Adding Available hours means only those hours are available that day; the rest is treated as unavailable. Unavailable periods carve out time you cannot work.
What do the colours mean?
Green — time you can work
Red — time you cannot
Mixed days show both on the calendar timeline
Why can’t I save overlapping times?
Care Diary blocks overlapping availability entries for the same person. You will see a message that the time overlaps an existing entry. Choose a different time, or edit or delete the existing entry first.
What if I already have a shift then?
Saving availability does not change the rostered shift. Confirm Save to keep the availability, or Discard.
Why can’t I edit an entry?
Past dates cannot be changed. Entries that have already started cannot be edited or deleted. Only upcoming periods can be updated.
Why don’t I see My Availability or the Availability tab?
You need access to Staff Availability. If the section is missing, you do not have permission. Ask an administrator.
