Two-factor authentication in Care Diary is controlled at the company level. Individual users do not enrol authenticator apps. Administrators turn the email verification requirement on or off in Company Profile.
Turn 2FA on or off
Sign in to the Care Diary website with permission to update the company.
Go to Settings → Company Profile.
Find Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
Switch it on or off.
Select Save.
When it is on, users must enter a 6-digit email code to finish signing in (or when switching into that company). When it is off, the extra code step is not required.
Tips for administrators
Make sure staff email addresses in Care Diary are current before you enable 2FA.
Tell staff to expect a Care Diary Login Code email and to check spam if needed.
For the original enable steps, see How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
