Connect Google Calendar from My Profile so your published Care Diary shifts appear in Google. Sync is one-way: Care Diary → Google. Changes you make in Google Calendar do not update Care Diary.
Any signed-in staff member can connect their own Google account. Sync is controlled per company.
Connect Google Calendar
Switch to the company whose shifts you want to sync.
Open My Profile → Integrations.
Under Google Calendar, select Connect Google Calendar.
Sign in to Google and allow access.
When you return to Care Diary, you should see Google Calendar connected!
Care Diary creates a destination calendar named {Company name} Shifts and backfills your published assigned shifts for that company.
Pause, resume, reconnect or disconnect
On Integrations:
Pause sync — stops syncing for the current company without disconnecting Google.
Resume sync — turns sync back on for the current company and backfills again.
Reconnect — use when the badge shows Reconnect needed or sync status is Access expired.
Disconnect (⋯ menu) — disconnects Google Calendar from all your companies. Prefer Pause sync if you only want to stop one company.
What syncs
Published shifts where you are assigned
Draft or unpublished shifts are not kept in Google (related events are removed when a shift is unpublished or deleted)
Event title uses your company name; the description can include clients and an Open in Care Diary link
Shift notes are not included
Tips
Check Destination calendar, Sync status, and Sync direction on the Integrations card.
If status shows Paused or Access expired, use Resume sync or Reconnect as shown.
